We share an experiential learning experience from the design and development of an integrated learning environment (iLED) implemented at Appalachian State University as a part of a wind power technology course. The five-week integrated course plan includes a set of experiments for each of the four phases of David Kolb's experiential learning for wind resource measurement, focused especially on data acquisition (DAQ) and instrumentation of met towers. Our experience could be a meaningful pedagogical resource to instructors who offer hands-on engineering and renewable energy technology education. This paper presents a case study of implementing educational research, including theory, design, implementation, analysis of learning objectives, and outcomes of the experiential learning project in a laboratory-scale setup. We anticipate the iLED contributing to improving teaching and learning outcomes of wind energy education that align with current workforce demands of the global renewable energy industry.

This study developed an effective and reliable model for the prediction of wax and asphaltene deposition in crude oil facilities. Regular solution theory was used to develop the model taking into account that four phases are present at the time of deposition. The crude oil was characterized into five pseudo-components using the result obtained from hydrocarbon analysis using Gas chromatography with flame ionization detector and SARA analysis. Equilibrium constants of the phases were determined for each of the pseudo-components thereafter, the regular solution model parameters were determined using recently developed corrections for solubility parameter, density, molar volume and gas phase fugacity.......

The Pyrox process is a process of gasifying solid waste which implements the phenomenon of fluidisation. The process is used to produce fuel gas from the waste which can be then combusted to produce energy. This fuel gas can thus be a greener and more economical alternative to other conventional fuel sources.
